This is the plan
Day 1 – Departure from Lisbon to Portalegre passing in Arrábida – 133 km. Overnight in Castelo de Vide.
Visit Arrábida’s Natural Park and enjoy the landscape and the tiles factory. The most turquoise waters in the country.
Portalegre is the capital of district and for that reason has the cathedral. Be ready to walk on the medieval walls and get inside the castle so you can enjoy the famous tapestry.
Day 2 – Castelo de Vide – Marvão – Évora – 120 km. Overnight in Évora
Experience the Walking tour in Castelo de Vide and in the Jewish quarter and enjoy the picturesque streets and the old castle.
Visit Marvão, a fortified village on the national park of São Mamede.
Be surprised at Évora entering the Bones Chapel, the Cathedral and admiring the Roman Temple.
Day 3 – Vila Viçosa – Monsaraz – Alqueva Dam Wall – Beja. Overnight in Beja.
Vila Viçosa is known as the “Princess of Alentejo”. Despite beeing small, the village is truly an open-air museum. The marble in the region is of superior quality.
The Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa… a splendid royal palace which has no match in the Portuguese architecture.
Near the Spanish border find Monsaraz, a pottery village with the typical roof in schist that occupies a strategic position and posesses unique beauty.
The Alqueva Dam has 96.5 sq mi (250 km²) and its banks, with more than 683 mi (1100 km) This is the largest artificial lake in Europe.
Day 4 – Beja – Tavira –Olhão – Lagos – 129km – Overnight in Lagos.
On this day, throughout Algarve, you will have the opportunity to discover the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, nature reserves and typical villages.
Arrival at the Algarve begins with a visit to Cacela Velha – we will visit the small village overlooking the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Visit Tavira and its historic centre all the way to the castle. Visit Olhão, its fishing port and the traditional market.
Lagos, which is known for its walled old town, has a cooking class. The nearby Ponta da Piedade cliffs offer stunning views of the headland and a lighthouse.
Day 5 – Lagos – Sagres – departure to Lisbon – 327km
After the visit to Lagos, we will drive to Sagres for a visit to the Fortress and, soon after, to Cabo de São Vicente. It appeared where there was a medieval convent. We are talking about the most south western point of Portugal.
